Today’s Plinky.com prompt was, “What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?†Here’s my response and the Flickr.com pic I selected to illustrate it. ;o)
I think phrases like “having it all” are essentially meaningless, because they imply there is some mystical Happy Place we are striving to attain. I think if I ever arrived, I would grin for a while and then start kicking up some dust, wondering, “Well, NOW what?”
It takes clarity about what you want, balance among different areas of life, steady and long-term work, and an ability to enjoy the good moments along the way. And that feeling of making progress, making a difference and continuing to grow? That’s the closest thing I know to having it all.
