I use the services of these companies and HIGHLY recommend them. For most, I don’t get any coin for my little recommendations, but there will be a clear note below if I get anything for referrals:

Blogging Platform: Wordpress. I love it like a girl with her first crush — head over heels. I self-host my blog and use the WordPress platform to make my blog do pretty much whatever I want it to do. Thank you, WordPress.

Blog Host: ADDR.com has hosted various blogs for me for *several* years, and I can’t say enough about their personalized, live, 24/7 customer service. They’ve fixed minor errors on their part, had great up time, and even painstakingly restored my site for me when I completely mucked up a WordPress upgrade once. (They corrected my upgrade errors too.) Their customer service goes far, far, far above and beyond.

Computer backups: I use Carbonite.com* to back up everything on my laptop automatically. Not bad security for less than $50/year, and it’s boneheadedly easy to use. They offer a free 15-day trial. (*Your using the link in this paragraph for the free trial means that *if* you decide to buy the service later on, we’ll both get a bit of free service from them in thanks. Win-win!) I hope you never need to access your backed-up files. But at least they’ll be there. :o)
