My Library

I have been a reader for as long as I can remember. I can’t tell you how many cars I dodged while trying to walk from my bus stop to my grandmother’s house when I was a kid, because I couldn’t put down a book even to walk down the sidewalk safely. I have books strewn around my house, spilling off shelves, tucked into my purse, piled beside the tub. It’s lovely, actually.

Here’s an author cloud of my books from my catalog at LibraryThing.com (see below). You’d think I’ve have more than just 600+ books, wouldn’t you? I used to have more, but the older I get, the less inclined I am to keep books unless I think I’ll read them again, use them for reference, enjoy the ego-boo of having them on my shelves, feel too guilty for buying an expensive hardcover to give it away, or just like remembering the people who gave them to me. I gave away around 300 of them earlier this year after a yard sale — loaded down one woman’s backseat, trunk, and front passenger seat. :o)
