Aw, I’m so sorry to hear about that.

I’m so sorry. Banjo is a very beautiful being.

The day our guy passed, I sobbed for hours. I still miss him, but somehow he knows you and I are connected, so he’ll show Banjo around - but it’s still okay to sob.

Thanks, Kerry, Gorillabuns, and RhodesTer,

I haven’t cried for Banjo yet. I’ve been walking around with a knot in my throat that tightens when I see his favorite floor pillow, the small tree he liked to sit under, the bag of frozen green beans we kept in the freezer for him (vet-recommended treats), his red Ole Miss collar with the brand-new registration tag, and his water and food dishes, which are still in the corner of the kitchen. I think it’s just come too soon on the heels of my oldest daughter’s hot-footing it out of town. But I know at some point I’ll quit feeling numb, and it will hit me like a freight train.

We’ll all miss him so much, and we were privileged to have this gentle, loving creature in our lives for the past 13 years. We plan to buy some pretty flowers, rose bushes, or azalea bushes this spring and build a beautiful little Banjo garden in his memory.

Thanks for your kind words.

Yes, it WILL hit you like that.. and when it does, just let it. Sit there and sob and sense him near, comforting you..
