Twitter Digest: My Tweets for 2008-07-30
- Found out tonight that my 18yo did more than just a sneak move out of the house yesterday while I was at work. … #
- She also brought girlfriend AND GIRLFRIEND’S BROTHER here to cart her stuff out. I feel totally invaded. Furious, embarrassed, hurt. #
- Doesn’t my kid know I’m honorable AND love her? I would *never* send her out without anything she needed. She doesn’t know me at all. Agony. #
- The folks Ginny brought into my home also saw my pile of dirty laundry in front of laundry room door, where I’d been sorting. Mortified. #
- @phatmommy Thanks. I’m alternating between insanely benevolent/supportive and bawling at all she’s throwing away. #
- Also just found out that scholarship daughter is walking away from was INCREASED. She’d have had thousands ABOVE her college costs. Ye gods. #
- @darar Oh, I just hate people seeing a mess if I didn’t *choose* for them to see it, you know? If I’d been home, I’d have let them in. #
- @lalunablanca Lol — I think I needed to hear “purple monkeys” tonight. Thanks. I’m 99.5% crazy right now. #
- I know!!! She would **make** money going to college. I can’t believe she’s this blind & her girlfriend this *selfish* to encourage her loss #
- @VioletheVerbose Thanks — I’m not normally so angsty & whiney. It’s been less than 48 hrs., so it’s still fresh grief. Hope time heals. #
- @erinely It’s not ‘letting go.’ It’s being lied to, being used for purchases before she left, being treated like a villain. She had support. #
- @erinely But you’re right to be optimistic — and thank you for responding anyway, even if I don’t see it the way you do. I appreciate it. #
- @Karoli and @beautifulmess04 Thanks. I’m relieved to find out today I can keep her health insurance going. And I’m giving her furniture. #
- @VioletheVerbose Thanks — I keep thinking this isn’t going to get worse and then it does. I hope to stop writhing around soon! #
- @skeletonkey That’s the weird thing — I really *liked* the girlfriend, entirely separate from “my daughter’s girlfriend.” Feel betrayed. #
- @WendyM Harsh is right. I know this isn’t about me, even though she wrote her letter only to me, saying she “isn’t blaming” me. Magnanimous. #
- Okay, I’m going to find somebody else’s drama to care about now. I’m tired of me. Time to surf the Twitterverse. What’s your angst du jour? #
- @skeletonkey The girlfriend lives there. My girl met her through her father’s family, who live in that area. Girlfriend’s biz is there, too. #
- @lisamariemary Thanks. Still hurts even tho we gave her everything we could: financially, emotionally, our time. Tried to help her “grow up” #
- @skeletonkey Poster hanging angst? Heh. I was in daughter’s room tonight, surveying the detritus, & lost count of the staples in her wall. #
- @skeletonkey Heh-heh. Just treat BF’s folks like real people you’d meet anywhere & chat. It’s flattering to be interesting to someone else. #
- On the plus side, preliminary cleaning in daughter’s room DID locate some of my missing books, her stepfather’s iPod sync cord, and $.35. #
- @mommastantrum Hmm, I work for FedEx & am always rooting for us. I think we do the best job of all (of course). DHL has had problems. #
- @mommastantrum LOL. My 18yo, as a tot, used to wait until we got to Blockbusters to take an Oscar-worthy dump, with hip swivels & red face. #
- @skeletonkey I don’t tend to flip out about small stuff. Spackle heals all, y’know? One reason why I’m so aggrieved to be “the oppressor.” #
- @WendyM *snicker* Why do they do that?! It was like mine saved it up for the main aisle at Blockbuster. People would fall over laughing. #
- Amidst my daughter’s drama, I forgot to mention I lost another 4.8 lbs. this week. I’m now down by 19 pounds. Was surprising good news! #
- @mommastantrum Truly LOL — they are such gross little joys, aren’t they! #
- @CalamityJen Yeah, they’ve been pretty extended. Interesting to follow, isn’t it? #
- @mommastantrum Hey, nice to hear! Thanks. Hubby and I both work for them. By far, BEST company we’ve ever worked for. #
- @PseudoSJ Let’s re-spin that. That harsh soap is overwhelming your delicate self. (But I know. I hate losing a favorite product.) #
- @CalamityJen It’s a tough economic environment. Our office was more free with the coin of the realm, but they’ve tightened a lot. Smart — #
- @cutieai Thanks! Just Weight Watchers, lot* of water (14-16 cups/day per my kidney doc), & low salt. Melting off so far. But plenty to melt! #
- @bgsand Thanks! Kind of diluted by the rest of this week’s hoo-rah, but I’m savoring what sweetness there is. :o) #
- @fivehusbands I hate to see how a troll can steal the spark from someone’s day. Why do they always head for the vagina or a major artery? #
- @Sarcomical What a perfect description of a wretched feeling. Sympathies! #
- @jnbammer Awww — I loved those moments too when mine were little. Dreamy little smiles as they snuggled & drooled. #
- @RhodesTer lol — thanks. I am wringing my hands so hard because I worry about what’s she’s losing. She’s just naive & in love. Poor kid. #
- @jnbammer And when they fall asleep nursing or drinking from a bottle, a tiny pearl of milk trickles from the corner of little curved lips. #
- @fivehusbands Amen. I understand why you’re uneasy, and I’m pissed off at him on your behalf. Hate to a person quelled. #
- @Sarcomical Like that old Drano commercial where crud is clogging a pipe and the “other” cleaner can’t get past the clog. & you’re the pipe! #
- @bgsand Hey, what did I miss while immersed in my own drama? Hope the hellishness is past? Not the nice boyfriend, is it? #
- @fivehusbands Thanks — I’ll take all the hugs I can. Wish I could do something — I feel so helpless to guide her better. #
- @CalamityJen I’m with FedEx Services (smaller opco); hubs is with FedEx Express - charters division. Good teams in both places. :o) #
- @jnbammer re hairball: And you wish they weren’t teething! #
- @haikutwaiku Glad to meet you here — thanks for the note. Following you now too! #
- @jnbammer Ouch! I remember that! Thank goodness they’re mostly too little to understand the bad words we use. #
- @RhodesTer You pegged it. I cried, “Why this way?” & she said, “You’re intimidating!” Not the response of the adult she thinks she is *sigh* #
- @bgsand Oh hell — what a smell — no dryer bell? — limb fell. Poet & I don’t know it eh? SYMPATHIES!!! #
- lol — I wrote a stinker of a jingle in sympathy for a friend’s stopped-up potty, and promptly lost three followers. No potty poetry? :oP #
- Okay, going to tuck my chatty self into bed for the night. There’s a really fluffy cat winking at me, wanting me to fall asleep & snuggle. #
- @erinely Thanks, Erin — that’s very kind of you. #
- Trying to figure out why 18yo had a dresser drawer filled with about 30-40 of the strips you pull off maxipads’ adhesive. No trash can? #
- Friend invited me to help with registration at a charity run this weekend (melanoma fundraiser). Looking forward to being BUSY. #
- @Tonilyn You can ghost your drive onto another or use a backup service like Carbonite (although initial bkup is slow). Good luck! #
- @dawniemom What’s a mother’s helper? Dumb question, I know — but it *sounds* nice. Just another adult in house to assist? #
- @dawniemom Nifty. Good luck finding someone! #
- @haikutwaiku Just us worker bees / making coffee and yawning / and wishing for bed. #haiku :o) #
- @lisamariemary I wish! I found it in Flickr; it’s from a book about knitted celebrities. Cute, eh! :oD #
- @sugarmommy lol — who’s your resident experimenter who might blow things up? #
- @sugarmommy LOL — I’m the mommy who says things like that, and my kids give me that look. :oP #
- @KitiaraTomsen If you *want* a hula hoop, you clearly *need* one. :o) #
