Win a DSLR, Help a Special Needs Adoption

I seldom drop a buck or two on prize drawings just in hopes of winning something, because my luck is slim (heck, it’s anorexic!). But when I do participate, I usually do it for a charity and just think of my vanishing money as a straight donation to a good cause, with the faint possibility of getting a nice surprise in return.

In this case, the prize and the cause are S-W-E-E-T over at the Can’t See Straight for 8 blog. The swag is a digital SLR - a Nikon D40. The cause? It’s a heartwarmer.

Carla, a mom to eight (bless ya, lady), is raising money for her ninth child … who’ll also be her family’s sixth special needs adoption. Specifically, they want to bring little Gia Han home from Vietnam to her new family. Other potential parents haven’t wanted to deal with this child’s special challenges. But Carla and her husband do.

I plucked my $10 out without even a twinge from my miserly heart.
