Twitter Digest: My Tweets for 2008-05-06
- Just got back from a Target run to pick up shorts and shoes for the 10yo. Good lord, her feet reek. We cleared out three aisles of shoppers. #
- We are now punishing the washing machine with multiple cycles of her old shoes, tons of detergent, and hot, hot, HOT water. #
- My lithotripsy was postponed AGAIN. I’ll have to live with kidney stones a bit longer until the infection clears. Pouting? Yeah. Bad. #
- @RhodesTer Insert a really embarrassing photo, like goat.se, with the same file name in your site’s image folder where the old one was. #
- @CityMama I’ve never had kimchi, although its reputation precedes it. (Smelly?) I’m very curious about the taste! #
- @toddw Hey, Todd! That sign makes me grin every time I pass it. :o) Re x365: the original is about people, but you can tweak it - go for it! #
- @toddw DEFINITELY my kind of food, then! #
- <– Should go to sleep. Will be surprising my 17yo tomorrow by attending before-school tutoring with her. No more hookey. Night! #
- Morning, tweets. I was up at 4:30 today. There really IS a sunrise, dew on the grass, etc., just like they said. Who knew. #
- I got out of the car at 6 a.m. to attend morning algebra tutoring at high school with my surprised and horrified daughter. #
- My 17yo BEGGED me not to go in. I relented & said I’d be there daily unless her teacher emailed me that she HAD participated in tutoring. #
- (She has to ask questions to get extra credit for attending.) Got his email within 15 minutes. #
- @lisamariemary Morning to you, too! I’m feeling relief that I may finally have my delinquent 17yo’s attention. :o) #
- @bgsand lol — I know what you mean! I don’t know whether to be relieved or do a victory dance. #
- @bgsand Yeah, "both" is right! I hate to make her cry like that, but I do feel like dancing because I finally reached her. #
- @lisamariemary Oh yeah, mine can carve out my heart with a glance. My marshmallow heart and rubber spine melt. Hard to pretend otherwise! #
- @bgsand It’s hard to say, "I’m disgusted/disappointed" or "Where is your integrity?" But some sense of shame helps. Parenting sux at times. #
- @lisamariemary Thanks for comforting words! I’m glad I got her attention today *and* that I relented at the door. Sternness and mercy=love? #
- @bgsand Thanks! I’m already glad. Just wish I’d done it earlier in the year. Wonder where she gets her procrastination! *eek* #
- @toddw Yeah. I just hate to grind on her like that. But that’s why they pay me the big bucks, eh? **rolling eyes** #
- Okay, I’m doing my usual morning "bye-bye" to all the Twitter goodness to go earn my meal ticket. Later, Tweets! #
- @lalunablanca Just saw your reply from earlier — thanks! My 17yo also texted me to be SURE her teacher emailed about her participation. #
- Twitterers: What does it mean if you see the message "Error looking up profile" for someone on Twitter? Is there some privacy function? #
- @radix33 D’oh! Should have thought of checking the Twitter site — good troubleshooting advice. Thanks! #
- @toddw Live and learn, eh? Thanks for the profile info! #
- Gotta run; just got a callback I’ve been waiting for all afternoon. Later, Tweets! #
- Am getting my 17yo and her best buddy together tonight with both sets of parents; just found out that the lies continue about the hookey. #
- I did mention she had 2 offenses going on, didn’t I? Not making use of tutoring sessions AND playing hooky (again) recently. #
- There’s making allowances for kids with ADD, & then there’s condoning lies. I’ll do one, but not the other. GRR! (Okay, going back to work.) #
- P.S. to Twitterers — thanks for letting me vent. May keep me from teen-icide. #
- DM penwriter Re using WordPress: I highly recommend it. It’s my favorite of all the blogging platforms I’ve tried. Good luck! #
- I’m back — too distracted over teen-icide plans to get much done. Am enjoying seeing some of the light-hearted tweets instead. #
- @Maggie Literally, LOL at the open-door dilemma. Thanks, I needed that! #
- @mwsmedia Hey, Matt! You don’t know me from Adam, but I’m a fan from your first podcast. :o) Glad to meet you on Twitter. Best — #
- @mrsflinger Hope today isn’t worse than a 17-hour yesterday. Those uber-long days can grind the soul down. Time to put the feet up? #
- @mwsmedia *abashed* I guess I mean the first one I heard - "Brave Men Run." I miss the "Writers Talking," one too! :o) #
- @hotdogsladies Good one! #
- @mwsmedia heh-heh — bring on the Sovereign Summer — the readers are ready! #
- @WritingJourney Gotta write back and tell how golfing went. Always entertaining to find out your limits or hidden skills, eh? #
- @sethharwood Your back too? Mine’s a killer today, along with neck. Stress, I think. Sympathies to ya! #
- @dooce Better than on the FRONT of said cycle. Kinda. #
- @Sarcomical ? I heard "cherry pie, Billy Boy, Billy Boy" in my version. Great … now I’VE got it. Giving you my 10yo’s "Recycle now" ditty. #
- @Velma At least it replaces "By the Dashboard Light," which has been rattling around since I saw Meatloaf in that cell phone commercial. :oP #
- @Sarcomical ♪ She’s a young thing and cannot leave her mother. ♪ #
- @WritingJourney My favorite part. Plus the cold beer, natch. #
- DM Sarcomical Are you just being playful or really want to know that song/lyrics? Check here: http://snurl.com/27g0z #
- Heading home since I had an early start to the workday. Later, Tweets. Have a cool evening. #
- Marshmallow heart here. Teen has convinced me her friend is lying to save her own fanny. I’m an idiot, right? But I believe. #
