It’s a sad thing to be 47 and for your sophomoric sense of humor to compel you to pull over and take a picture of a sign advertising “hot boiled nuts,” isn’t it?

Pic is from last Wednesday, when Ginny and I jaunted down to Corinth, Miss., to pick up her prom dress from alterations.

I just passed some of those signs yesterday and tried to figure why it would be so hard to add the EA after the P and before the NUTS.

Anyway, just wanted to say high. I lived in Collierville from second grade through sixth grade in the early 1980s.

Thanks for dropping in. I can’t resist a badly made sign, especially when they’re so bad they’re almost good again. You know what I mean?

This produce stand also warmed my heart a bit when I saw the pickup backed to the road, brimming with fat, ripe watermelons. My dad used to sell them too, massed around the base of a mimosa tree at the end of our driveway.

I’m enjoying living in Collierville; been here about seven years. It’s a lot like home (central Mississippi) but maybe a bit more “city.” That says a lot more about home than it does about C’ville, though. :o)
