Twitter Digest: My Tweets for 2008-05-31
- @lisamariemary I drowned in the work quicksand til 4:30, then bobbed to the surface. The miracle of weekends! #
- @lizwebpage Twue, twue. #
- Dang, I cannot hang tonight. Eyelids drooping, doing the head bobs, zzzzzz … (night, all) … zzzzzzzzzz #
- @FabGirl lol — I darned near knocked myself unconscious with a 50/50 bleach/water solution cleaning a moldy apt. closet once #
- @erinely Just voted — good luck! #
- @MelissaSummers SO much better than my morn, in which I interrogated pets to see who’s the Mad Dining Room Pooper. #
- @mightymur Love your new avatar — a little brain under the rubber stamp? #
- Found a cool Twitter tool - follow “timer” and dm it with the time you want it to send you a reminder tweet. http://twitter.com/timer #
- @mightymur Loving it MORE now. Braaaaaains … #
- Whoops — daughter’s soccer warm-up starts in 4 minutes — game in 19 minutes. Gotta flee! #
- @akaMonty Hey, I’m jealous. Mine are so thin I have to draw them in. :o) #
- @Chookooloonks Congrats on your little swimmer. Love those milestones. :o) #
- @john_dalton Never heard of a “banned” domain. Maybe it means some countries would filter it out on decency standards? (What is it?) #
- @lalunablanca Snazzy Urban Weekend. Shelby United Women. Southern Union of Wits. Sorta Unofficial Whatsit. Seriously Uh, What? & worse. :o) #
- @bc That’s a FAB photo! #
- @akaMonty lol — mine are dark but only exist up close to the nose — outer edge of eyebrows vanish. Without drawing in, looks very Vulcan! #
- @bc Cool backstory. You had me at “lavender pumps.” #
- @lalunablanca *curtsying* Better than “Something Unexpectedly Wicked.” I think. #
- @SuburbanTurmoil Definitely an AWWWsome pic. #
- @akaMonty That is very logical. *wink* #
- Weird, I’m only getting *some* of my tweets on Twhirl … there are replies on my Twitter page I haven’t seen before. #
- <– Wishing Twitter would not be psychotic or that it would at least take its meds regularly. #
- @akaMonty Well if they don’t, they SHOULD! ;oD #
- @msh2006 I’m thinking of starting a wine guzzling group. Fuhgeddabout all this tasting. ;oP #
- @mikedoe Hmm, you said that ARCHLY. (Let the groans begin.) #
- @msh2006 I stand *hic* corrected. ;o) #
- @mikedoe I know when I’m browbeaten. :oP #
- @bc Very plucky of you. *ba-dum-bump* #
- @msh2006 Oh, I love the stuff but don’t drink often. Not a moral thing — more of a “damn this headache thing.” Enjoy! #
- @typeamom You know, “peaceful showers” sounds kind of like a pacifist kinkster’s dream. (Did I just say that out loud? OMG …) #
- @bc Then @mikedoe and I shall carry on with unblinking resolve and not … err … put a lid on it. #
- @msh2006 Probably the sugar, then … I do love me some sweet wine. But a really aromatic & mellow semi-dry wine works too. Recommendations? #
- @waynehastings I wonder if they put a lower priority on sending Tweets to Twhirl, Friendfeed, etc.? I’d rather Twitter be slow than erratic. #
- @msh2006 Never found a merlot I liked. Mostly reds, some whites, few roses. Ecco Domini, Fat Bastard, Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuisse … #
- @msh2006 Also Yago brand sangria, cream sherry, port, … you know, I’m getting thirsty … #
- Oh, and I once dated a guy who bought some cheap-ass rose called “Eye of the Swan.” Every bit as classy as it sounds. But tasty. And $3. #
- & there’s also Remy Martin when I want some throat-searing drink action. Back in the day, anyway! #
- @waynehastings Ah. Well, that explains it. I guess they need to focus on serving their core audience first. Pity, though. But thanks! #
- @msh2006 I’ve been hit-or-miss in finding a good one. (champagne taste/beer budget). Better a rare good snootful than frequent crap, right? #
- @mommastantrum No, but I’m game! Will give it a shot but I’m doubtful. Merlot always tastes a little bitter/thin to me. Chianti, more so. #
- @mommastantrum I must have your list of meds for wine headaches! ;o) #
- @john_dalton Huh — I didn’t know Google banned sites, as long as they weren’t gaming the system somehow. But I may be naive on that. #
- @mommastantrum Knock on wood, I haven’t had a severe headache in a while. Used to get the “turn off the lights & be quiet” kind. Sympathies! #
- @mommastantrum Wasn’t ever diagnosed with migraines; might have been sinus-related. Since I had a couple of sinus surgeries, headaches=gone. #
- Hmm, wine wish list. Good=rich, earthy, flavorful, AROMATIC. Bad=sharp, bitter, acidic. Sweet is OK; nonsweet too if no bitter “green” taste #
- But I’ve had wines that were skunky, ones that left a sharp aftertaste like raw walnuts do, & others so oaky they tasted like liquid planks. #
- @Peter_Gent That explains so much! No WONDER hubby kept pouring me glass after glass. :oP #
- @mommastantrum Shiraz! Don’t like it either. You & I would do fine at a wine party - you’d get 1/2 the bottles & I’d get the other 1/2. ;o) #
- @mommastantrum Ouch on the TIA, by the way. Glad you’re better! #
- Hey Twitter photogs: I don’t get Twitpic — is it easier to use than Flickr + Snurl? #
- @msh2006 Hmm, maybe fruity is what I mean too. #
- @TheSabs Can’t get that song out of my mind now. Yay, Lovin’ Spoonful! #
- @msh2006 Re tannins: Heh-heh — I *do* tend to uncork-and-pour without that pesky breathing in between. #
- @msh2006 Cool — that just went on my buy-next list. In fact, just called hubby and asked him to pick it up. =) #
- @Danacea *waving* Found your Twitter page after sighing over wines with @msh2006. Got thirsty enough to call hubby & request a vino pickup. #
- @bgsand Well, darn — and me with a plain ol’ non-camera phone (corporate BlackBerry). Must start scheming. #
- @Danacea Heh - one of my favorite cartoons has a clerk saying, “Hey Mike, how much ambiance does this wine have?” … ” ‘Bout a quart.” #
- <– Just realized I’m the kind of person who has “favorite cartoons.” #
- @Loula5 All I can say to your post is … “Cousin? That you?” :o) But srsly, I identify. #
- @msh2006 Can’t wait to Twitter a “clink” and a “glug-glug-glug” to you. =) #
- @msh2006 When you say spice, what does that mean in vino-lingo? Peppery? #
- @xavierla REALLY — about Obama/church? #
- @poshmama Ha. I read “buzzed” as “stoked” and wondered at your enthusiasm. :o) #
- @tindle *snicker* I’m currently waiting for mah man to bring a bottle of ambience home. #
- @msh2006 I wouldn’t mind trying “spicy” like that. Peppery, not so much. :o) #
- @KJToo Heh-heh, you responding to my “waiting on wine” tweet or my “favorite cartoon” tweet? Or both? ;o) #
- @msh2006 sound track for that movie: bow-chikka-BOW-bowwww” … right? ;oD #
- @msh2006 I actually don’t mind a leeeeetle pepper. But not when it dominates. (A submissive pepper wine?) heh-heh … #
- @xavierla OK, but I’ll keep my ears tuned to find out more. Thx — #
- @tindle @msh2006 Yikes! I so did not get that Spice reference. :oP #
- @msh2006 *trying to look like I might emit a low, throaty laugh … but just giggling like a loon* #
- @tindle Ah … I figured something must have just zoomed over my head. Brit wit, was it? =) #
- @hownottowrite Amen — I’m still beaming. #
- @venomouskate I cannot believe this … in the U.S.? of A? #
- @tindle Brit Wit it is, then. ;oP #
- @crtv I thought it was lovely, & then I read the description. Lovely AND interesting. :o) #
- Hubby just called to explain lateness; traffic is backed up to the horizon on 385. Poor fellah — #
- retweeting from @TupeloRob: Obama’s quit Trinity United Church. WOW he found an opinionated post on it: http://tinyurl.com/6go5po #
- @akaMonty Is that the badge with the mug and the teardrop? ;o) #
- @thicke It’s not a judgment — I like opinionated. I’m just surprised when I find coherent forcefulness. #
- @akaMonty I like how they used silvery threads. Really makes the tear glisten. ;o) #
- @GeekMommy Hey, I kinda love how that “hush up, now” comment was phrased. #
- @madpoet Nom indeed! #
- @skippytpe You know, you COULD pencil in an O and improve that sign to “No poets.” =) #
- OK, my wine — er, I mean my HUBBY– has arrived. Am going to greet him, just in case he’s carrying anything that needs to be uncorked. #
- Say, that sounded like a fair bit of innuendo. *pink face* Later, tweets! #

47×365, No. 31 - Jim M.
You were an endearingly bad dancer who sent me a dozen roses after you lost my number and didn’t call for weeks. Hardly a good reason to marry, but I was lonely. I liked to scratch your back until you fell asleep, smiling. We lasted two years.

Twitter Digest: My Tweets for 2008-05-30
- @Karoli I like to think there’s a taser for every need. :o) Tonight, my older daughter must want me to obtain one & set it at “BBQ.” #
- Daughter’s missing her calling in theater. Her every gesture & inarticulate grunt says, “Mom, you idiot LAME-O.” All without words. #
- Youngest daughter is downstairs with a friend, madly playing some video game that involves slapping a monkey. Not a euphemism. #
- Hubby’s on his way back from Leland, Miss. He’s been on the road for about 8 hours today, plus heavy lifting time, helping little bro move. #
- Better him than me! #
- @ylooshi I read it earlier — a really good post. Found it via J-Walk (a favorite blog). High-five! I’m feeling jealous! :o) #
- @schmutzie Hmm … kittens for all. Would those be freelines? *booing myself* #
- I’m going to hell for nuding the thermostat up, but the hot-flash years are no time to economize on the a/c. Or so I tell hubby. #
- @sweetney I do it all the time. Have a WordPress plugin that auto-sends the comment to the person I’m responding to. Works for me! #
- @ninjapoodles For some reason your earnest chicken avatar is making me giggle tonight. Kudos! #
- A Girl Scout memorial we’d planned for two sisters whose dad died last week has been postponed. I’m relieved — timing was a bitch on Friday #
- And I also feel a smidge guilty for thinking about my own time crunch! #
- @QueenofSpain I think that tweet had everything — booze, beds, blogging, antlers. ;o) #
- @schmutzie Anything to help me fight the urge to add another critter to my household. :o) #
- You know anyone w/ the knack for escalation? 1 of my relatives could see a raw nerve & feel compelled to grind a cheese grater on it. #
- @ninjapoodles *SNORT* That is perfect! #
- @bgsand Cool air, clean sheets, oh my. Reeeeelaxing. #
- I think I’m going to enjoy the last half hour of Friday eve with some podcasts. Night, Tweets! #
- Niebu, Tweeps. (Loving the fact we have our own budding language here.) #
- Hmm, it’s not a language though, is it. More like a vocabulary. #
- I used hubby’s car yesterday and misplaced keys, so gave him my car to use today. Now? Madly looking for his keys so *I* can go to work. Hmm #
- @MenwithPens Apparently you have the talent of pleasing people without trying but cannot annoy at will. Such a sad talent. :oP #
- @bc *racking my brains* I don’t get it … ? #
- My followers just dropped by six and then went back up by four. Twitter, you tease! #
- @bc Thanks! I got niebu but “fewirby” sailed right over my head. The ‘f’ staying the same boggled me. :o) #
- Question for the Twitterverse: Do you read the blogs of everyone (or most) you follow on Twitter? #
- @lalunablanca Niebu! I’m feeling especially clueless this morning; SUW=? Having fun making up weird possibilities, tho. #
- @bc Go for it & Tweet when it’s posted! :o) #
- @problogger I’m wondering how the owners will monetize Twitter so they can add capacity. I don’t see space for ads. Any ideas? #
- Yikes, I need to quit tweeting and scoot into work. Busy day ahead. Cya later, Tweets. #
- @problogger I figured something like that might pop up one day. I’d be willing to pay a monthly fee to fend off ads. :o) #
- Found a tiny vial of patchouli oil in a drawer; dabbed a bit on. LOVE it. Older daughter: “Ew, that smells like dirt!” Me: *miffed* #
- Couldn’t find: car keys (borrowed 17yo’s), glasses (hidden in purse pocket), or breakfast $ (dug in purse). Not my best organized morning. #
- Question for all: Do you block the spamtwits? I never get Tweets from ‘em, but weird to be followed by breastcancer, caturine, and herpes33. #
- <– wondering if the names Herpes1 to Herpes32 were already taken. #
- @mkhall A melancholy tweet. Hope the weekend’s silences are the peaceful, content kind. :o) #
- OK — gonna be good now and WORK instead of Tweeting. Later, y’all! #
- Woo-hoo! Youngest daughter just made it to the 2nd round of tryouts for the Cougars (competitive soccer team). She’s ELATED! (me too) #
- @rakuette Re scatterbrained morn: I was comforted by the fact that daughter’s overnight company told me her mom always loses things too. :o) #
- @lisamariemary Am trying to escape the work quicksand to tweet but it’s sucking me down .. heeeeelp meeeee #
- @jchutchins Oh, what a BUMMER. Sympathies on the theft. That’s happened to me before too — broke a window to get zippo, nada, zilch. #
- @jchutchins Just curious what is the flap you’re talking about, re poweruser Twitter divas. Yeah, I know I’m nosy. ;o) #
- @VDog Nice pic! #
- @Velma You have one of those too? My 17yo couldn’t care less, but my 10yo can’t STAND to be late, forget items, etc. (Glad 1 of them cares!) #
- @VDog I only wish mine had that glow to it all the time. My red tones only pop out in the sunshine. :o) #
- Getting outof the Twitter pile now — work calls. Later! #
- @bgsand Thanks — my 10yot is a soccer devotee. I enjoy it too but am glad the season’s last game is tomorrow! Welcome back, Saturdays. :o) #
- @akaMonty Just pick a friendly ear. It’s the telling that helps, not the hearing. Well…pick someone unlikely to hurt you with the secret. #
- @akaMonty Ah, those pie-holes — always popping open! Hope you find a willing friend. Troubles shared are halved; joys shared are doubled. #
- @AngellaD lol at the neighborly meow comment. I had to visit your page to see the context. Huh — I must be missing some tweets. Darn it! #
- What IS it with me and the trite adages today? *shaking my head, checking to see if anything rattles* #
- @copyblogger Awesome! What’s the cut-off date before late enrollment fees kick in? :oP #
- Oh, ick. Gotta get busy working again. Bye til we tweet again — #
