Twitter Digest: My Tweets for 2008-03-29
- Daughter is at that stage of driving where she slowly veers in whatever direction she leans for radio, drink, purse, fresh CD, etc. #
- @finslippy Henry is a marvel. Probably wondering what the big deal is. #
- Spatters of rain gone; nearest clouds are pink and gold. Remaining sliver of the sun is a brilliant pink. It’s cliche pretty. #
- Stopping at Wendy’s for supper. Now must find change purse in piles of crap in the car. Why don’t I put things UP? #
- Hospital billboard on the way: “COMpassion. OUR passion.” (Guess that’s a better slogan than “We put the ’spit’ in ‘hospital.’ “) #
- Daughter’s driving is not bad for a newbie. But my neck is so tense — like we would wreck if I relaxed and quit splintering my teeth. #
- Just passed through Jackson, Miss. I grew up about 20 miles from here; wonder how many of my old haunts are still around? #
- Just passed billboard for “world’s largest display of tubs.” Hard to believe a place called Luter’s Supply can claim this bit of glory. #
- Passed another billboard o’ brags: State’s largest collection of garden art at Four Seasons. Gnome, anyone? #
- We’re now in my home county — Copiah (co-PIE-uh). Indian word meaning “panther scream.” (Such a nerd for knowing that.) #
- Daughter and I are tired of the car ride but only 15 miles to go. We’re currently having an ache-a-thon. Her: knees and back. AMATEUR! #
- The juices of a thousand bugs are clotting on our windshield. Tasty! No wiper fluid. #
- Must remember to apologize to husband for brake hole I’m stomping on passenger side of his car. #
- Got within 1.1 mile of destination — Bridge Out. #
- Then found that either the state camp had the wrong address or GPS erred. We were actually 45 miles from destination. #
- Hubby met us halfway and led us to cabin. SO TIRED. Twittering out for the night. Tah-tah. #
- Oh, the joys of traveling. Somewhere at home, there’s a big ol’ stack of clean panties, missing my suitcase. #
- Golf villa here isn’t bad. Overlooks one of the greens and plenty of rolling hills. #
- Golf villa where we’re staying is owned by a Miss. state park. One Chiclet-size towel per person. #
- Misting rain at camp playground #
- In game room of park since it’s raining. Office won’t take credit cards for tokens. Have 12 dollars for four kids. #
- Game room cheapness: Nephew is too young to know there are no coins in machine. He’s happy just to be slapping at the controls. #
- Got a “Happy Birthday!” email from Sr. VP at work. Nice touch he does for all 600 or so employees in our division. :o) #
- Kids just wasted dollar fifty on carnival-style machine to grab toys with claws. Does anyone EVER win those? #
- 3-yr.-old nephew has neatly trimmed white-blond hair. He’s 10 tons of energy in a 40-lb. package today. Want to kiss the nape of his neck. #
- Youngest daughter is too ticklish to have someone ride behind her on gameroom Waverunner. #
- Kids found a cool feather on ground. Park ranger didn’t know what kind it was. Are they just park cops — no nature interests or training? #
- Nephew (3) in park, as we point to purple wisteria: Where are the ORANGE flowers? His fave color, so there MUST be orange flowers here. #
- Rain stopped but playground’s still wet, so kids are playing Operation. Buzz, buzz, buzz. #
- Definitely sick again. On my birthday. #

Twitter Digest: My Tweets for 2008-03-28
- Just took oldest to a school library event for extra English class credit. She tried to beg off, but she’s ditched class 9 times. Recently. #
- Heading to Costco later. Kites on sale for $9. Buying them for 4 kids at this weekend’s family meet-up at a state park. *squee* Can’t WAIT! #
- Is it sad that I consider it “cooking” when we pan-fry the ham slices for our sandwiches? #
- @poshmama (new Twitter follower here — enjoying your chit-chat.) Prayer said. Hope your flight left OK! #
- Heading to birthday lunch with friends. Might as well celebrate turning 47 tomorrow — I’ll *gasp* get older anyway! #
- Took a half day off. Just finished long lunch with coworkers and am picking up daughter — hitting the road shortly. WEEKEND! #
- Couldn’t find my crappy second-hand digital camera before trip. Just got new one from Costco. Am now filled with love for humanity. #
- Listening to “Angel” by Shaggy. WAY better than the Olivia Newton-John version I remember. (Checking myself for musical expiration date.) #
- Much calmer traveling with a GPS. No worries about getting lost. Just keeping an eye on my teen’s driving. No need for EXTRA adrenaline. #
- Trying to explain to teen driver why it’s not worth it to root around in lap for sunflower seeds she dropped. #
- Flashing blue lights. Patrolman just flew by us. My daughter, who has a learner’s permit, may have permanently stained the driver’s seat. #
- Never realized before how accustomed I am to driving with just my own thoughts. Daughter/driver is a music lover. Calm melodies, thank god. #
- Discussing vampire novels and movies with daughter. Love the fact that we both enjoy this genre. #
- Just passed the world’s most neon orange 18-wheeler. 116 miles to next turn … #
- Riding down a pretty stretch of Mississippi highway with dogwood and redbud in bloom among the pines, the sun low in the sky. #
- Good grief — SO MANY cops on the road today. Expecting a big rash of Friday fools to hit their pavement? #
- Feeeling nauseated-burny in stomach like I did with kidney infection. Maybe didn’t eat enough before taking antibiotics? (Still on meds.) #
- Me: “Are the headlights on?” Daughter: (click) “Yes.” #
- Wishing my new camera’s battery was charged. Passed a long golden field banded by a treeline turning spring green. Beautiful lines. #
- DAMN, just passed six deer grazing by side of road. (I’m not hoping for Roadkill Stew. Just wishing camera was charged.) #
- @schmutzie Noro is so lovely. Your earlier description made me want some too. Know what you’re making yet? #
- Darn it — we just hit the rain that was predicted. It’s the intermittent drizzle crap, too. About 2 1/4 hours to go … #

Alert: Back to Blogging in 2 Days
I’ll only have access to Twitter via my BlackBerry until Sunday night, so there won’t be any longer blog posts until then. *sniffle* I’m traveling this weekend, and I don’t think our intrepid cats, dog, or the house sitter will be slaving over a hot keyboard for me. They’ll be too busy either guarding the creeping crap in our house or destroying any meager belongings we left behind (that car is FULL to the ROOF, I tell you). :o)
ENTRECARDERS: This means I won’t be able to drop any cards tonight or Saturday night, too. But I’ll catch up with you Sunday!
