Twitter Digest: My Tweets for 2008-03-29
- Daughter is at that stage of driving where she slowly veers in whatever direction she leans for radio, drink, purse, fresh CD, etc. #
- @finslippy Henry is a marvel. Probably wondering what the big deal is. #
- Spatters of rain gone; nearest clouds are pink and gold. Remaining sliver of the sun is a brilliant pink. It’s cliche pretty. #
- Stopping at Wendy’s for supper. Now must find change purse in piles of crap in the car. Why don’t I put things UP? #
- Hospital billboard on the way: “COMpassion. OUR passion.” (Guess that’s a better slogan than “We put the ’spit’ in ‘hospital.’ “) #
- Daughter’s driving is not bad for a newbie. But my neck is so tense — like we would wreck if I relaxed and quit splintering my teeth. #
- Just passed through Jackson, Miss. I grew up about 20 miles from here; wonder how many of my old haunts are still around? #
- Just passed billboard for “world’s largest display of tubs.” Hard to believe a place called Luter’s Supply can claim this bit of glory. #
- Passed another billboard o’ brags: State’s largest collection of garden art at Four Seasons. Gnome, anyone? #
- We’re now in my home county — Copiah (co-PIE-uh). Indian word meaning “panther scream.” (Such a nerd for knowing that.) #
- Daughter and I are tired of the car ride but only 15 miles to go. We’re currently having an ache-a-thon. Her: knees and back. AMATEUR! #
- The juices of a thousand bugs are clotting on our windshield. Tasty! No wiper fluid. #
- Must remember to apologize to husband for brake hole I’m stomping on passenger side of his car. #
- Got within 1.1 mile of destination — Bridge Out. #
- Then found that either the state camp had the wrong address or GPS erred. We were actually 45 miles from destination. #
- Hubby met us halfway and led us to cabin. SO TIRED. Twittering out for the night. Tah-tah. #
- Oh, the joys of traveling. Somewhere at home, there’s a big ol’ stack of clean panties, missing my suitcase. #
- Golf villa here isn’t bad. Overlooks one of the greens and plenty of rolling hills. #
- Golf villa where we’re staying is owned by a Miss. state park. One Chiclet-size towel per person. #
- Misting rain at camp playground #
- In game room of park since it’s raining. Office won’t take credit cards for tokens. Have 12 dollars for four kids. #
- Game room cheapness: Nephew is too young to know there are no coins in machine. He’s happy just to be slapping at the controls. #
- Got a “Happy Birthday!” email from Sr. VP at work. Nice touch he does for all 600 or so employees in our division. :o) #
- Kids just wasted dollar fifty on carnival-style machine to grab toys with claws. Does anyone EVER win those? #
- 3-yr.-old nephew has neatly trimmed white-blond hair. He’s 10 tons of energy in a 40-lb. package today. Want to kiss the nape of his neck. #
- Youngest daughter is too ticklish to have someone ride behind her on gameroom Waverunner. #
- Kids found a cool feather on ground. Park ranger didn’t know what kind it was. Are they just park cops — no nature interests or training? #
- Nephew (3) in park, as we point to purple wisteria: Where are the ORANGE flowers? His fave color, so there MUST be orange flowers here. #
- Rain stopped but playground’s still wet, so kids are playing Operation. Buzz, buzz, buzz. #
- Definitely sick again. On my birthday. #
